Photo Contest
We get a lot of wonderful pictures that capture exactly what keeps us daydreaming on our days away from the river. But hunting pictures instead of fish changes the game, makes you see the unique angles of angling. From big trout to little trout, from breathtaking river shots to hilarious snapshots, we see lots of good ones.
It’s time to have a contest, of sorts, just for the fun of it. From July 15 to October 15, we’re going to have a photo contest. There will be an informal judging panel. There won’t be a lot of seriousness. This is an honor deal: we’d like pics taken between these dates. We’d prefer that you don’t excessively Photoshop. Other than that, the camera and the river are yours, and the pleasure is ours.
Four categories (these will come with a good prize, I promise. I’m thinking nets...)
1. Fish pics: they’re beautiful, aren’t they?
2. River pics: shows why the river is wonderful.
3. Culture pics: captures something irreplaceable in what we do.
4. Humor: we wouldn’t do it if it weren’t fun(ny) right?
Grand Prize:
This could be from any of the above categories, or none of them. Breathtaking, or breathtakingly funny, this will be the one the judges like best. The winner receives a Winston fly rod!
To submit photos, simply send them to contest@gateslodge.com with your name, date, and less than a paragraph of writing (writing is not necessary and won’t influence judges). Remember this email is for the photo contest, so please don’t include, say, your 2011 reservation requests in your email!
